Your Latest Posts, Live on Your Own Site
You can now connect an Instagram account and show a grid of your most recent posts on any page of your actor website.
The real argument for this
Not that a feed is beautiful. It is that a website updates roughly never and a social account updates weekly, and a visitor cannot tell the difference between a site that is finished and a site that has been abandoned.
A feed showing something from last week answers that question instantly. It is the cheapest possible signal that there is a working actor behind the page, and it costs you no additional writing at all.
Where to put it
Near the bottom of the home page, or on its own page low in the menu. Not at the top, and not above your reel.
A feed is supporting evidence, not the main event. If a casting director's first impression of your site is a grid of holiday photographs, the feed has actively cost you something. Everything about ordering is in drag to reorder your menu.
Look at your last nine posts first
That is what the grid will show. Open your account and view them as a stranger who is deciding whether to cast you.
If the answer is "this is mostly my dog", that is fine, but it belongs on a personal account and the feed on your professional site should be a different one. Plenty of actors keep two. The alternative is deciding that your one account is professional-facing and posting accordingly, which is a real decision with real costs.
The technical details
- Connect once, no password shared, revocable from either side.
- Posts are cached, so the page does not wait on a third party to load.
- If the connection lapses, the grid hides rather than showing an error block.
- Images are served through our own delivery, which is why it does not slow the page down.
That third point matters. Social embeds are the most common cause of an otherwise fast page suddenly breaking, and hiding gracefully is better than a gray rectangle saying something went wrong.
